Surveys the history of the southern Levant from the Bronze age to the present day, examining scriptural texts, archaeology, inscriptions, historical memories and lived experiences. The course will cover aspects of geography, culture, religious histories, political, economic and civil transformations, and prospects for peace. Serves as pre-requisite for the I520 trip to Israel/Palestine, but functions as an elective for any other student in the course.
